Girraway Ganyi Consultancy speaks up against homophobia, biphobia & transphobia

Girraway Ganyi Consultancy is proud to stand & speak up against:

homophobia: describes prejudice against people based on their actual or perceived sexuality (e.g. verbal abuse, social exclusion, humiliation, rumours, threats and physical violence)

biphobia: refers more specifically to prejudice related to actual or perceived bisexuality

transphobia: is a collection of ideas and phenomena that encompass a range of negative attitudes, feelings or actions towards transgender people or transness in general. It can include fear, aversion, hatred, violence, anger, or discomfort felt or expressed towards people who do not conform to social gender expectations.

Girraway Ganyi Consultancy stands by this commitment by:

embedding inclusive practices into organisational policies and procedures

undertaking training to enhance confidence in delivering a high quality of care

visually promoting the service as a safe and supportive environment for sexuality diverse people (e.g. displaying words, images or symbols that include or represent the LGBQ community, such as the rainbow flag) at all training workshops

consult with relevant organisations to strengthen relationships, and facilitate referrals and coordinated care

use gender-neutral language in discussions with clients

address any bullying that maybe identified in our dealings with organisations

advocate for supportive environments

continue to learn and grow about specific issues in relation to gender & sexuality
